Friday, November 7th - 6 to 8:30 pm
Saturday, November 8th - 10 to 12 pm and 1 to 3 pm
Sunday, November 9th 10am to 12 pm followed by the takedown tournament

Preregistration Cost = $99 (Must have Valid USA Wrestling Card). This camp will be for all ages and skill levels.

Alabama USA standards will be used for weight classes and age divisions. Times published will be followed as much as possible but no wrestling will start before the published start time. Only coaches and staff allowed in the hospitality room.

REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION

Registration for each wrestler per age group is $10. Each wrestler may only compete in one weight class in an age group. (For example, a wrestler may compete in the Bantam division and also compete in the Intermediate division, but he may not wrestle in two different weight classes in the Bantam division. The wrestler will not have to weigh-in for the Intermediate division once he has wrestled in the Bantam division, however, he will need to register and pay an additional $10.)

Admission prices: Adults - $3, Students - $1

Concessions will be available all day.

AYWA Wrestling Clinic

We will be offering a wrestling clinic on Saturday, December 13th at the Warrior Wrestling Complex. Our main focus is a series of techniques that our wrestlers can use from the TOP position.

There will be two sessions:

Session 1: from 9:00 to 11:00am

Session 2: from 1:00 to 3:00pm

During the lunch break (11:00am to 1:00pm), there will be open mats. This clinic is FREE to all AYWA members. Don't miss it. There will be Pizza available for purchase at the concession stand. And moms? This may be a good time to SHOP! Don't forget we have Warrior Wrestling jewelry 'n stuff!

Concessions will be available all day.

There will be a beginner's bracket and beginners will be STRICTLY enforced unless brackets are merged due to low turn out. There must be NO HISTORY IN TRACKING WRESTLING prior to the 2008-2009 season.

If there are less than 4 wrestlers in any bracket, advanced or beginner, brackets will be merged into one bracket.

If there are 6 or less wrestlers in any bracket, a round robin bracket will be created.

Alabama USA standards will be used for weight classes and age divisions.

Times published will be followed as much as possible. If we can start early, we will.

Eight (8) will be run at this tournament.

Only coaches and staff are allowed in the hospitality room.

There will be an optional Friday night weigh-in from 6:00-7:30

YOUTH Warrior Wrestling Takedown Duals

Bantam (born 2001-2002), Midget (born 1999-2000), Novice (born 1997-1998), and School Boy (born 1995-1996) wrestlers will be divided into teams and will wrestle against other teams in a dual format. Vestavia, Prattville, Hoover, and AYWA wrestlers will be participating.

Bantam wrestlers need to check in at 8:45am, and Bantam wrestling is 9:15-11:15am.

Midget wrestlers need to check in at 11:00am, and Midget wrestling is 11:30am-1:30pm.

Novice/School Boy wrestlers need to check in at 1:15pm, and Novice/School Boy wrestling is 1:45-3:45pm.

You and your team are invited to the 2009 Alabama Youth Wrestling State Championship hosted by the Hoover Wrestling Club.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS TOURNAMENT. Deadline is February 12 at 5:00pm! If your Mat Warrior is participating, we have a form at the Complex where you may sign him up. Bring your USA and Track Wrestling numbers as they are required on the form. Be very certain of your wrestler's weight and weight class; your wrestler must have competed in that class at least one USA tourney this season. Once you sign up your wrestler, WE WILL register YOUR WRESTLER! We are doing this to ensure that there are no wrestlers inadvertently left off. (This was a lesson we learned last year!) Additionally, you have already paid for the State tournament registration fee when you registered with AYWA, therefore we will be sending in the $15 registration fee for each wrestler who will compete. The only wrestlers who need to reimburse the $15 fee are those middle school wrestlers that joined after the scholastic season ended.

Alabama USA Stardards will be used for weight classes and age divisions.

There will be a skin check at this tournament.

OPTIONAL WEIGH-IN - FRIDAY FROM 6:00 TO 8:00 PM FOR BANTAM, MIDGET AND NOVICE AGE GROUPS.

Each wrestler must compete in his appropriate age group and may only compete in ONE weight class. No changes will be allowed after registration.

There will be a one pound allowance for Bantam, Midget and Novice and a two pound allowance for the Middle School/Schoolboy Division.
