Tournament Information

• Coach Weltzin will select which wrestlers that will compete.
• Location: Thompson High School
• Type: Dual
• Kids stay after school.
• Wrestling starts approximately 5pm

Tournament Information

• Location: Pelham High School
• Type: Double Elimination Bracketed (individual)
• Weigh-ins are on Friday, from 3:30 to 4:30pm.
• We WILL need parent drivers to volunteer to help transport the kids. Please be at the TMS School Gym at 3:10pm (unless coaches advise they need to leave earlier - will send out email).
• Wrestling starts at 5:30 or as soon as the brackets are complete.
• EVERYONE will wrestle.
• Coaches will tell you what time to be there on Saturday, 12/15/07.
• There will be team trophies for 1st - 3rd place and individual medals for 1st - 4th place.

Tournament Information

• Location: Vestavia Hills High School
• Type: 8-man Bracket
• Admission: Adults are $6.00, K-12th grade are $3.00, and Family Passes are available for $15
• Wrestlers will be entered into 8 man brackets, all wrestlers in full brackets will have three matches.
• All matches will be wrestled on 6 full sized mats.
• Wrestling will be from 11am to 4:30pm (approximate)
• Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd, place medals for all divisions.

Wrestler Information

• Weigh-ins are 8:30-9:30am
• Entry Fee: $5.00 per wrestler
• Weight Divisions for 7th and 8th Grade are: 75, 85, 95, 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 275
• Coaches may enter an unlimited number of wrestlers.
• Entries: ALL ENTRIES MUST BE FAXED TO 402-5379 BY 11:00 AM Wednesday DECEMBER 26, 2006. You may change weights, add or delete wrestlers on Thursday when you arrive.
• Coaches pick up awards at the conclusion of matches.
• All Wrestlers are invited to the Steven Morris / FCA Prayer Breakfast with John Peterson (1976 Olympic Gold Medalist, 1972 Silver) on Saturday December 30 in the Vestavia Hills HS Cafeteria.

On 01/12/08, Birmingham Metro South Middle School Tournament will take place at Spain Park High School. The Jaguar Takedown Club - Spain Park's Wrestling Booster Club - is hosting the tournament.

This tournament counts toward the Metro South All-Sports Championship, so all of the competing middle schools will participate. These schools include:

3. Clay Chalkville
4. Hewitt Trussville
5. Homewood
6. Mountain Brook
7. Oak Mountain
8. Pizitz
9. Riverchase
10. Simmons
11. Thompson
12. *Team X

*Due to the odd number of teams, a twelfth team, Team X, will be created using wrestlers from the eleven competing schools.

The format for the tournament this year will be modified so the entire tournament may be finished on one day - Saturday.

Tournament Information:

• Tournament action will begin at 8am with three (3) rounds of pool competition.
• There will be four (4) pools of three (3) teams each.
• The 1st and 2nd place teams from each pool will be seeded into an 8-team bracket competing for the championship. [click HERE for an 8-team bracket.]
• The 3rd place team from each pool will go into a 4-team consolation bracket competing for 9th place.
• The top eight (8) teams will each receive the maximum of five matches.

Championship and consolation bracket wrestling will commence immediately after pool competition, approximately at noon on Saturday, with four rounds of brackets.

Parents are needed to help with transportation on Friday. If you can help haul wrasslers, then email Coach Weltzin: sweltzin @ shelbyed.k12.al.us (remove the spaces) and let him know how many you can transport.

Whew!

Nick Hall Wins Brute Adidas Folkstyle Nationals!

During April 5th and 6th, Nick Hall won the Brute Adidas Folkstyle Nationals in Kansas City, MO!

Nick won the 7th Grade 111lb weight class with a score of 5-4 in the Championship Finals. To view the results, click HERE - scroll down about a third of the way and look for the 7th Grade 111-pounders.

Nick was crowned National Champion, plus received a Brute All-American Status Certificate.
