Tournament Info:

• The tournament will be run using Track Wrestling software. Our AYWA Mat Warriors have already been registered by Coach Glenn. Thanks Coach Glenn!
• Seeding will not be used. They will be using the 'wrestle-back' format to determine the true second place.
• School Boy has been expanded to include Middle School (7th and 8th grade) wrestlers.
• Alabama USA standards will be used for weight classes and age divisions (as shown below).
• Only coaches and staff are allowed in the hospitality room.
• There will be an option Friday night weigh-in offered at Oak Grove High School from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. You must have your USA card!

• THEY WILL NOT HAVE THE OPTIONAL FRIDAY NIGHT WEIGH-IN. Weigh-ins will be Saturday at Hewitt Trussville High School (HTHS). You must have your USA card.
• Alabama USA Standards will be used for weight classes and age divisions.
• Published starting times will be followed as closely as possible, but no wrestling will start before the published start time.
• ONLY Coaches and Staff will be allowed in the Hospitality Room. We appreciate your cooperation in this.
• SEEDING WILL NOT BE USED. WE WILL USE THE WRESTLE BACK FORMAT ALLOWING 3rd PLACE TO CHALLENGE 2nd TO DETERMINE A TRUE SECOND. ALSO NOTE THAT SCHOOL BOY HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO INCLUDE MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLERS.

Directions from Chattanooga: I-59 South to Exit #141. Turn right at end of exit ramp onto Chalkville Road. Take an immediate right (1st traffic light) onto Service Road. Stay on Service Road until it ends at Trussville-Clay Rd. (2 miles). Turn right on Trussville-Clay Rd. Cross over interstate and Hewitt is on the left.

Directions from Atlanta: I-20 West out of Atlanta. Exit on I-459 North (Exit #136). I-459 until it ends at I-59 (Exit 33). Take I-59 North to Exit #141. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Chalkville Road. Go about 1/10 of a mile to a Wendy's Hamburger Restaurant on the left. Turn left right beside the Wendy's on Green Drive. Follow Green Drive until it ends on Trussville-Clay Rd. Turn left on Trussville-Clay Rd. Hewitt is about 1 mile on the right.

Directions from Birmingham: I-59 North to Exit #141. Turn right at the end of the exit ramp onto Chalkville Road. Go about 1/10 of a mile to a Wendy's Hamburger Restaurant on the left. Turn left right beside the Wendy's on Green Drive. Follow Green Drive until it ends on Trussville-Clay Rd. Turn left on Trussville-Clay Rd. Hewitt is about 1 mile on the right.

Mat Momma's Directions from Alabaster:

1. Take I-65 NORTH for 11 miles, and head to the I-459 split
2. Bear RIGHT onto the I-459 NORTH ramp to Atlanta (US-280)/Gadsden, to 18 miles
3. Take the I-59 NORTH exit 33B like you're going to Gadsden, go 3.4 miles
4. Take exit 141, and turn RIGHT at the end of the exit ramp onto Chalkville Road.
5. Go about 1/10 of a mile and there will be a Wendy's Restaurant on the LEFT followed by Green Drive.
6. Turn on Green Drive after Wendy's Restaurant, and go a little over a mile until the road dead-ends.
7. Green Drive will dead end into Trussville-Clay Road (also called county road 153 - I think). Turn LEFT onto Trussville-Clay Road.
8. Go about a mile and Hewitt-Trussville High School should be on the RIGHT.

Vestavia State Tournament
February 16-17, 2007

Tournament Info:

• Pre-registration is required for the State tournament.
• Registration fee is $15 per wrestler.
• Wrestlers can only wrestle their appropriate age and one weight in the State Tournament.
• Participants must be residents of the State of Alabama.
• Teams must register as a group and registration must be received by midnight on Wednesday, February 7th.
• This space intentionally left blank
• Weight classes must be declared at this time because the State Tournament Seed Meeting will take place on the morning of the Alabaster Tournament. Registration form can be emailed to dkorn820@charter.net.
• One check per team for the $15 per wrestler registration. Registration check needs to be postmarked by 02/07/2007 and mailed to Don Korn 820 Reynolds Crest, Vestavia, AL 35242. Make the check payable to : Team Alabama
• If a wrestler does not make the weight for which he/she registered, there will be a $100 re-bracketing fee. That is not a typo - there is a $100 re-bracketing fee.
• Again, the State Tournament Seeding Meetings will be held on Saturday, February 10th, during the Alabaster tournament. There will actually be four different seed meetings. Each age groups state seed meeting will coincide with the normal coaches meeting just prior to the groups (bantam, midget, novice or schoolboy) wrestling that day. Coaches only!
• Seeding will be determined by true tournament results from this year. If a wrestler chooses to wrestle a different weight class than he/she has wrestled all year, the wrestler will not be seeded.
• Awards:
  • Trophies will be awarded for 1st through 4th place
  • There will be team awards for Bantam, Midget, Novice, and Schoolboy.
• Admission for the state tournament is $5.00 adult and $2.00 for kids, all sessions.
• Concession stand will be available.
• No coolers allowed
• 6 mats will be used for the tournament.
• Finals will be run on 4 mats, one mat per age group.
• Hospitality room will be available for coaches and officials only

• 7:00pm Schoolboy wrestling through consolation finals

Directions to Vestavia Hills High School

Directions from I-459:

1. Take I-65 North to I-459 North.
2. From I-459, exit at Acton Road and turn LEFT at bottom of exit.
3. On Acton Road, go about 1/2 mile to dead end and turn RIGHT on Old Rocky Ridge Road.
4. Go about 1 mile to end and bear RIGHT onto Rocky Ridge Road.
5. Go about 2 miles and turn LEFT on Morgan Drive - you'll go through the middle of the Rocky Ridge community, the Rocky Ridge Plaza will be on your LEFT immediately before your turn to the LEFT.
6. Follow Morgan till it dead ends into Lime Rock Road.
7. Turn LEFT on Lime Rock Road and Vestavia Hills High School is on the LEFT.

Google's Directions I-65 (from Alabaster):

1. Get on I-65 NORTH and go 13 miles
2. Take the US-31 exit 252, bear RIGHT on the ramp
3. Turn RIGHT onto the US-31 NORTH (Montgomery Hwy) and go 1.1 miles
4. Turn RIGHT at Vestridge Dr - go 0.5 miles (it's the first road after Pizitz Drive)
5. Turn LEFT at Blind Brook Ln and you'll immediately see Gay Way on the RIGHT
6. Bear RIGHT at Gay Way - go 0.3 miles until the road ends
7. Turn LEFT at Panorama Dr - go 0.1 mile around a curve to the left
8. Turn RIGHT at Lime Rock Rd - go 0.3 mile and Vestavia Hills High School on is your RIGHT
