Entry Fee: $2.50 per wrestler SYWO member. One (1) coach's pass per 6 wrestlers, $4.00 for each additional coach. Please make checks payable to Athens Youth Wrestling.
Registration: Coaches must submit the number of wrestlers for each class by Wednesday, Feb. 15th no later than 6:00 pm. Please reply by email if possible.
Coach Meetings: There will be a coaches meeting before the start of each tournament with the tournament director to collect entry fees. It is the goal of the SYWO to start on time.
February 17, 2006, Friday Night:
Class 1 (7-8th Grade)    Boys who have not turned 15 prior to September 1, 2005 and have not completed the 8th grade.
Weigh-in     5:15-6:00 PM
Weight Divisions:     75, 85, 95, 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 145, 155, 165, 175, 189, LHWT (cutoff 215), HWT (cutoff 275)
Tournament:     6:30 PM
February 18, 2006, Saturday
Class 4 (K-2 grade)     Boys who have not turned 9 prior to September 1, 2005 and have not completed the 2nd grade and are no younger than 4 years of age.
Weigh-in:     7:00-7:45 AM
Weight Divisions:     VTP (<39), 43, 47, 52, 55, 59, 63, 67, 71, 76, 82, 91, 99, LHWT (Cutoff 117), HWT (Cutoff 140)
Tournament:     8:30 AM
Class 3 (3-4 grade)     Boys who have not turned 11 prior to September 1, 2005 and have not completed the 4th grade.
Weigh-in:     11:30AM - 12:15PM
Weight Divisions:     VTP (<43), 47, 52, 55, 59, 63, 67, 71, 76, 82, 91, 99, LHWT (Cutoff 117), HWT (Cutoff 140)
Tournament:     1:00 PM
Class 2 (5-6 grade)     Boys who have not turned 13 prior to September 1, 2005 and have not completed the 6th grade.
Weigh-in:     3:00-3:45PM
Weight Divisions:     68, 74, 80, 86, 93, 100, 109, 119, 125, 132, 143, 150, LHWT (cutoff 165), HWT (cutoff 180)
Tournament:     4:30 PM

Dear Coach:

The second Southern Youth Wrestling Organization (SYWO) tournament hosted by Athens Youth Wrestling will be held at Athens State University in Athens, AL on February 17 & 18, 2006. Directions to Athens State University are below. Note the changed weigh-in times and starting times for Class 3 and Class 2 wrestlers on Saturday, they are different than the UWC tournament.

The number of wrestlers for each class should be received via e-mail or phone by Wed. February 15, 6:00 pm. The entry fee is $2.50 per wrestler to help cover the cost of medals. You will be allotted 1 coach's pass per 6 wrestlers overages will be charged $4.00 for each overage. You must pre-register coaches and their spouses, so we can have an admission list at the gate. Only those who have been pre-registered and paid the SYWO fees will be allowed in without charge. Your SYWO Coach's ID will allow you access to the hospitality room. Remember no children are allowed in the Hospitality room, including coach's kids. The only exception is teenagers that are working the tournament. Entry and coaches fees will be collected in a 5 minute coaches meeting prior to each tournament. Checks should be made payable to Athens Youth Wrestling.

Please note that this tournament is hosted by Athens Youth Wrestling Organization and is being held at Athens State University. Please follow all school rules as they are allowing us to use their facility.

Directions to Athens State University

From South:

Travel North on I-65 to the Athens HWY 72 West Exit.
Take the Athens HWY 72 West exit and travel west to HWY 31 North.
Take the HWY 31 North exit and travel north to Hobbs Street.
Turn left on Hobbs Street the University will be on the right.
The Gym entrance is around the back of the main parking lot on Hobbs.

From East:

Travel West on HWY 72 to I-565.
Continue West on I-565 to the I-65 North Exit.
Take the I-65 North Exit I-65 to the Athens HWY 72 West Exit.
Take the HWY 31 North exit and travel north to Hobbs Street
Turn left on Hobbs Street the University will be on the right.
The Gym entrance is around the back of the main parking lot on Hobbs.

From North:

Travel South on I-65 to the on I-65 to the Athens HWY 72 West Exit.
Take the Athens HWY 72 West exit and travel west to HWY 31 North.
Take the HWY 31 North exit and travel north to Hobbs Street.
Turn left on Hobbs Street the University will be on the right.
The Gym entrance is around the back of the main parking lot on Hobbs.

From West:

Travel East on HWY 72 to Athens to HWY 31 North.
Take the HWY 31 North exit and travel north to Hobbs Street.
Turn left on Hobbs Street the University will be on the right.
